Hullo, my freaky darlings!

I've had many requests and questions about turning my SuperWhoLock series into shirts or prints or what have you, and I am now proud to announce that I've gotten my crap together and made a redbubble.

As of right now, the only design available is the TARDIS, and the other two will be out soon enough.

Also, the print is available in clothing, stickers, and iPhone/iPod cases.  Exciting right?  Let me know if you'd like it in print form as well (e.g. posters and whatnot)

So, here's the [link]

Enjoy!

A very happy New Year to all my lovely watchers out there!

A lot of stuff's happened since my last journal.  I managed to pass all my classes.  I kicked total arse in Drawing class (no duh there, right?).  Christmas has come and gone, and I've managed to get myself completely addicted to Assassin's Creed (seriously...I need a twelve step program and I'm only on the first game).

In the coming year there will hopefully be a lot of new work coming out.  I've got a lot of ideas swimming about.  Mostly fanart, some traditional.  I know I bombarded y'all with endless portraits of myself (thanks, Drawing Class) and there's one or two left in the queue.

What would you all like to see?  More fanart?  More traditional?  Celebrity portraits?  More colourings?

Cheers my lovelies!

Right, I know I said that I was going to answer these tomorrow, but I'm bored, and I don't want to start on my drawing assignment, so I'll answer them now.

Actually, before I start, I want to thank a few people, for making my birthday awesome, so thanks to

:iconpyro939: :iconzaptiftun: :iconthunderscape-7: :iconladyilona1984: :iconguardianangel627: :iconmsmojorisin: :iconcjurewic:

I think that's everyone.

Y'all helped make yesterday the best birthday a girl could ask for.
(Of course, Ryan Steele telling me Happy Birthday was probably the best thing that happened all day. But that's a story for another time.)

As for the rest of you...I'm sure y'all were out there sending me good thoughts.  :)

Now! On with the questions!

From the brilliant :iconbritishgeek:

What should I make the subject of my next photography study?

Me! Ha, no... that would be ridiculous and next to impossible. :)

I think it would be interesting to play around with capturing motion.  Blurred lights of cars as they race around the streets...a skirt as someone twirls...a coat as it billows out behind someone as they race about to try to capture Moriarty...okay, I might be watching too much Sherlock. Anyways, that or something involving dance.  I don't know what, but photos of dancers are always appreciated in my book.

What do you enjoy about my (irregularly posted, hap-hazardous styled, infrequent) work?

Well, the fact that it's always lovely is a major plus.  There's also the feeling when something pops up on my feed like "oh! he hasn't posted in awhile!  I thought he was dead or traveling about the universe in a blue box! Nice to see that I was wrong.  And damn, that perspective is amazing."

So, to turn the tables on you, what do you enjoy about my (random, messy, posted in the wee hours of the morning) work?

And you do know that you didn't have to wait until I did one of these question-thingys to get these answered right?  Bombard me with random questions all you like.

How long until you legally change your name to Amelia Pond?

Well, that all depends...how long until you legally change your name to the Doctor?

-----

And now, from the lovely :iconprfury:

Which literary character(s) would you want to have lunch with and why?

See...funny story about this.  I was thinking about this in bed last week, and I came up with a delightful scenario.  It would be me, Elizabeth Bennent, Sherlock Holmes, Sam Spade, Rhett Butler and Scarlet O'Hara.  Sherlock and Sam would be highly wary of each other, Rhe and Scarlet would argue and get into a huge row, and Elizabeth and I would be the best of friends, making commentary about the spectacle.

Where did you get your "Super awesome Daniel Craig cup"?

My little brother got it for me actually.  They had Cowboys & Aliens cups at 7-11 and I asked him if he could get me one the next time he went for a Slurpee.  The next day while he was out, I got a text saying "You wanted a Daniel Craig cup, right?", and when he got home he gave me a humongous cup with Daniel Craig on it.  It's like a Super Big Gulp or something ridiculous like that. It holds something like 1.3 L. It's huge.

Red pill or Blue pill?

Hmmm....is the Red pill cherry flavoured?  'Cos I will so take that one. :D

If you could turn invisible for 24 hours, whose conversations would you listen in on?

LISTEN TO ALL THE CONVERSATIONS!!!!

Picture this: you're in the ocean in a submarine when you see a (very much) land-based animalswim by.  Which animal is it?  And what would your reaction be?

"Hi, Mr. Submarine-Captain-Man?  Was that a baby ocelot? Or have I suddenly gone completely mad? And if it really was a baby ocelot, can I swim out and get it?  It looks adorable."

-----

A bit of a late entry from the wonderful :iconthe-silver-doe95:

If you had 24 hours to do anything you wanted, what would you do?

I feel like you asked me this question earlier and I never answered...sorry!  Oh, now I feel bad.  I'll just answer it now.  :)

I think that I would have a huge party for all my friends (internet and IRL) and there would be bouncy castles and video games and Twister and general nerdiness and cupcakes!  We'd all get together and have a crazy awesome time and it'll be legend-wait for it-dary!

And if I had any time left I would try to put a dent in my "To Be Hugged List".  It's quite lengthy. :D

What are your opinions on Sherlock?

I LOVE SHERLOCK!!!! SO VERY MUCH!

It's probably my second favourite show after Doctor Who.  All of it is completely brilliant and I can't wait for the next season.

About six months ago, I got bored and asked y'all to ask me some questions.  Guess what.

I'm bored again. :)

So, just like last time

:bulletgreen:  You'll have a time limit (I'll be taking questions until October 5, so y'all've got a week).

:bulletgreen:  Also, please keep it clean. Let's be mature around here people.

:bulletgreen:  Ask most anything you like: favourite colour, favourite classes, last movie I saw, last song I listened to, turn ons, turn offs, ideal date, last time I cried, last time I laughed, pet peeves...etc. etc. etc. Or really anything else you can come up with.

:bulletgreen:  You can submit as many questions as you want.

Hopefully, I get some good questions.

Cheers, my lovelies!

Hey y'all!

I just wanted to start out with a big thank you!  I've got a bunch of new watchers and my page views are steadily gettin' up there.  Y'all are so sweet!  Thanks for taking the time to come check out my stuff! :tighthug:

Second, I have a couple of questions.

One:  I've started a new art class, and I'll probably be posting some of my assignments up here.  However, I wanted to know if you all would want to see more traditional art (read: less fan based) with some tutorials or tips or something like that, or would y'all like to see more fan art, or would y'all like to see something completely different.  I know it's ultimately my decision, but I just wanted to see what your opinions are.

Two: In regards to fan art, what fandom would you most like to see? (TRON, Doctor Who, more Facebook pages, etc...)

If y'all could take a minute to respond, it would be brilliant.  That and I might give you a cookie.  Or a delicious Nutella cheesecake bite.  Trust me...soooooo good.

I think that's it.  I can't really think of anything else to say...oh right...twenty days until my birthday! :w00t:

Okay, now I think I'm done.

Cheers, my lovelies!

Right so, besides making my brain go "what the hell" and being a bit frightening, Night Terrors (the new Doctor Who) was quite brilliant.  As the name suggests it was about fear, and I thought we'd do a fun little poll sort of thing.  The question is this:

What is your greatest fear?

Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine.

September 10, 2011

Thanks for the responses, y'all!

And since you held up your end of the deal, I'll tell you mine.

First off, I have a slight fear of heights...well...more like high, open spaces.  And I also have anxiety and slight claustrophobia in large crowds.

But there's a little scenario that goes along with my greatest fear.

If you haven't seen it, there's a show about grim reapers called 'Dead Like Me'.  It was a brilliant show that only ran for two seasons, but I love it.  (FYI, don't watch the movie that came out, it's horrible.) Anyway, there's an episode in the first season called 'Vacation'.  And in that episode, the reapers are filing their victim's last thoughts.  One of the ones they come across is Daisy's.  Daisy is relatively new to their group and basically she's a flirty, upbeat actress with many, many (alleged) escapades with various actors; however, it is revealed that her last thought was "Why has no one ever loved me?"

When that was revealed, I couldn't stop crying, and I am so scared that that will be my last thought.

I know that my journals are starting to turn into movie reviews, but I really don't care, 'cos I'm gonna talk about Fright Night right now.  This will not be as long nor as organised as my last review.

So, Fright Night, right...BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN. Seriously, if you aren't planning on seeing it, change you're damn plans, 'cos it is brilliant!  Colin Farell is a fantastic vampire.  Anton is an adorable Charlie. (He seems to be doing quite a few movies where his name's Charlie...) And David Tennant.  Dear God, I love David Tennant.  He is simply wonderful in this film.  AND! He made a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference in the movie.  I can die happy now.  My life is complete.

Seriously, though.  Brilliant story and performances.  Just the right mix of horror and humor. I'm gonna go see it again for sure.  You all should see it at least once. I'm giving it a 9.8 out of 10....because there's always room for improvement.  :)

See? Not as long or as detailed.  Just as I promised.  I assure you though, that there was a lot more Tennant fangirling going on.  I just spared all of you. Cheers.

Before you get into the long, involved process of reading this, please note that this is, in fact, a review, and that there will be spoilers.  So, now that I have warned you, do not come cryin' to me when I ruin parts of the movie for you.

Alright, with that being said, on to the review! Allons-y!

Right, so.  Captain America.

Let's just start off at the very stem of everything.  Superhero movies.  Let it be known that especially now I go into superhero/comic movies with relatively low expectations.  I have good reason for this.  Case in point: X-men Origins. Need another? Green Hornet. Fantastic Four. Superman Returns. Batman & Robin. I can keep going. I promise you. But I think by now you all get the point.  So, even though I thought the trailers and all the information surrounding the movie looked awesome, I went in with the bar set rather low.

By the end of the movie, the bar had rocketed upwards.

Let me try to be as organised as possible while I nerd out over here.  I will admit that I do not know too much about the comic book backstory or what not.  I'm mostly armed with basic facts, so if I miss anything, feel free to inform me in the comments. Nicely.

1.  I really think that one of the strongest things about this movie was the supporting cast.  Sometimes, a movie focuses on the protagonist/antagonist and just sort of throws away the other characters. (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I'm lookin' at you) The main supporting characters in Captain America (those characters being Bucky Barnes, Colonel Phillips, Doctor Erskine, Doctor Zola, and Howard Stark) were all wonderfully played by their actors and they did not seem like throw away characters.  All of them had a unique purpose that helped the story along.  My favourites were Doctor Erskine, played by Stanley Tucci, and Colonel Phillips, played by Tommy Lee Jones.  I seriously would go see the movie again just for the pair of them.  Dr. Erskine had a lovely backstory, and I have to say that Mr. Tucci's German accent was excellent.  And Mr. Jones?  How do I even begin to describe Tommy Lee Jones? He was the gruff, sarcastic, one-liner slinging Colonel, and I believe that he was my favourite character.

2.  Hugo Weaving.  If I cannot even begin to describe Mr. Jones, then I can not even begin to find the words for Hugo Weaving. I mean, it is HUGO WEAVING.  He is Elrond! He is V! And now he brilliantly portrays Red Skull.  Not only did he look amazing, that man knows how to rock a long coat (mad props to the costume designer and the concept designers and CG and makeup boys and girls), but the character was believable.  This was not some weird campy comic villain.  Mr. Weaving played it as a completely serious madman, which was a brilliant move on his part.  There was the potential to go weirdly ridiculous with the character and be too over the top, chomping on scenery every 5 seconds, but no scenery chomping, no extra ham, just a wonderful performance.

3.  I cannot even begin to say how happy I was that they kept the film during WWII.  When I think Captain America, I think of him punching Hitler in the face, but I'll get to that in a second.

4. PUNCHING HITLER IN THE FACE.  I really liked the idea of them making Captain America into a public figure, explaining where the comic books and imagery came from.  Moreover, just as you would expect, I did do my patented "Movie Theatre Chair Geek Shuffle" dance when they released that particular comic book in the movie.  Plus, I liked how when he was on the USO tour, he had the comic book costume, but then there was the awesome, more realistic uniformy...costumey...thing.  But more about that in the next point.

5. Captain America himself.  Before I get two deeply into the subject of the Captain, let it be known that I had a problem with Chris Evans.  Emphasis on the word had.  The issue I had was that he had already played The Human Torch in the Fantastic Four.  However, that series is done by Fox, I believe, and not connected to this series.  The only Marvel movies "officially" connected together are Iron Man, Thor, Incredible Hulk, and Captain America, basically everything under the MARVEL studios banner.  Everything else (X-Men, Daredevil, Blade, etc) are not affiliated. So, with that problem solved, the only problem I really had was the portrayal of Steve Rogers.  The Human Torch character in the Fantastic Four really got on my nerves.  I think it has to do with the fact that I am not overly fond of overly cocky characters.  I understand that actors can be versitile, but the only thing of Mr. Evans's that I was familiar with was the Human Torch.  However, I was happy to find that Mr. Evans portrayed the Captain wonderfully.  I don't have any real complaints about his character.  At least none that I can think of right now.  Also, I liked how they went with a more realistic costume in the movie, as I mentioned in the previous number.  I think that they kept the spirit of the costume there with out having him run around in tights and ridiculous boots.  No matter how stylin' they might be.

6. Wilhelm scream.  One of the motorcyclists in the final chase to the hidden Hydra base. True story.

7.  I've discovered that I'm spot on when it comes to identifying composers. Not five minutes into the score, I could tell that it was Alan Silvestri.

8. Did anyone else think that some of the Hydra soldiers look like Robocops?

9. OHMYUSERAVENGERSTEASERTRAILER!!!! Not only did they do an adequate job of bringing Captain America into the 21st century, that teaser looked amazing! Hawkeye and Iron Man and Samuel L. Jackson! Oh my!  I cannot wait for next summer.  It's gonna be bangin'.  And in case you were wondering, there was a major nerd-out.  There was squeeing and geek dancing. It was quite impressive.

Nitpicks:

Okay, there are two that I can think of right off the top of my head, which is impressive as the Avengers teaser pretty much blew my mind.  Number One: This one might make me a horrible person and it is really, really, really nitpicky.  I'm probably the only one in the theater who noticed, but in the movie, there were integrated troops; however, military integration did not take place until the Korean War. Number Two: At the last battle...charge...thing, I couldn't help but notice that Agent Carter was not wearing a helmet.  Honey, I don't care how lucky you think you are or how great your hair looks, put on a freaking helmet!  There is stuff falling from the sky and explosions and bullets etc, etc, etc. The chorus girls were even wearing helmets and they weren't even going into battle! Put on the damned helmet!

Okay, I think I'm done now. I think that overall, I'd give this about 8.5 Vibranium shields. Because there's always room for improvement. :)

Feel free to voice your own thoughts in the comments below, and I know that I ragged on a few movies, but don't test me.  If you want to start an Origins fight, I'll fight you. And win.

Cheers, my loves!

Right.  So like the title says, I was tagged and I'm bored, so we're gonna have some more fun.

Comment here, and I'll do the following.

1. Tell you something I learned about by looking at your DA page for 13 seconds.

2. Tell you a color you remind me of.

3. Tell you what animal you remind me of.

4. Tell you what movie, tv, or video game character you remind me of.

5. Ask you a question, and you must answer.

6. Tell you something I like about you.

7. Give you a nickname.

8. Tell you the object that is to the left of me.

9. Dare you to post this in your journal.

10.  And just to make things interesting, when you reply to my question.  You can also ask me a question that I must answer.  But only if you want to.
Yeah, so that's the plan.

And sorry I haven't been around too much lately.  The training at my job stopped and I was thrown in full force.  So, yeah.  Most updates and such will probably come on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, given that those are my days off.  In other news, I've got a new Facebook page idea, so that'll be coming up hopefully by the end of the summer.  Also, I've got some more Tron ideas....aaaannd...I think that's about it.

Right, so, why is it that every time I tell someone I like them I get turned down? And I was so sure about this one too...dammit.  I'm not mad at him, he's super sweet and such a great friend and he was really nice about it, so hopefully I didn't make things too weird. I think that I'm more mad at myself. Eh, I'm taking that back.  I'm more 'bleh' than mad.  I usually get myself in this situation and in the end I'm still alone.  People say there are plenty of fish in the sea, but I'm not seeing too many.  Maybe I should go to Ireland.  Apparently, they love redheads over there.  I dunno if that's really true, but if it is, I'm hopping on the first flight over.

Okay, self-pity moment over.  I'm really fine.  I just needed to rant. :)

Also, I don't know who shoved a stick up his arse, but my little bro needs to get over himself and fast.  I don't know what's happened while I was away at school, but he needs to stop with the attitude. Seriously, I don't think I can live with it for three more months.  Fratricide might become an issue...

On a happier note, my Rinzler figure came today!  He's pretty and he lights up! :giggle:  And, new Doctor Who soon!  Yay!

I would like to start off by thanking y'all for your lovely questions.  And now, without any further ado, I shall answer them the best that I can.

First up:

:iconbritishgeek: asked

Life long dreams?

Hmmm...well, right now I'm studying to be a forensic chemist, so there's that.  I eventually want to be a questioned documents examiner.  Live somewhere nice.  Find someone to spend my life with in said nice place.  Let's see, what else...well, I also have a lot of people on my bucket list to hug.  Oh, and I'm going to marry Jamie Bell.  That's so gonna happen.  :XD:

Somewhere/something you'd love to go/do?

Right about now, I'd love to go to Disney World, but alas, I have neither the time off nor the cash.  I've always wanted to visit Ireland, Scotland and England, as well as Australia and possibly Germany.  Oh, and Greece.  And the Caribbean, well, technically the Caribbean again, but I was much younger when I went the first time.

Something I'd love to do is take a dance class with either Travis Wall or Chris Scott.  They are amazing dancers and I'd love to have them teach me.

Weirdest (positive) experience?

That would have to be the fun car rides I go on with my roommates.  We usually get lost and freak out for no apparent reason.  There was one where we had the GPS on, but we were still lost as all get out.  The GPS said something like turn on to Druck Valley Road, but they way it came out it sounded like Drug Valley.  So my first roommate is freaking out because we're lost and it's dark and we're some place called "Drug" Valley.  And somehow, that lead to a conversation about locks not being able to stop AK-47s, Jason Voorhees jumping on the hood of the car and killing us all, and which one of us we'd eat first.  It was fantastic.

Best memory?

I don't really have anything that stands out in my mind.  Um, I suppose anytime I'm with my crazy friends.  One of the greatest things that made a bad day amazing was when Daniel Logan retweeted a link to some of my art.  That's a pretty cool memory.

:iconprfury: asked

favourite number and why

As you may have guessed it's 813.  Eight was apparently the first number I recognised when I was a child, according to my mum, and thirteen is generally lucky for me, contrary to popular superstition. So I put the two together and volia!

favourite animal and why

Do I have to pick?  I would probably say some kind of cat, wild or domestic.  Maybe a tiger.  They're just very regal and graceful in the way they move.

What's your superhero weakness?

Bruce Boxleitner's legs.  I mean, hot damn!  :XD:

_____

Question asked by both :iconbritishgeek: and :iconprfury:

Cake or death?

First of all, I have to say that seeing this question made me laugh for a good two minutes.

And I'll have to go with death, uh I mean, cake!

_____

From the ever eloquent :iconmsmojorisin:

OI LOVE WOT'S YER CUP SIZE?

Well, I'm currently using 22 oz or so for my iced tea, because I get really thirsty at times, but if I have to I can settle for 16 oz.

Thanks for being so concerned about my hydration. :XD:

_____

:iconthe-silver-doe95: asked

What's your favourite (book) series?

Does that include comic book/graphic novels?  'Cos then I would have to say Fables.  It's such a good story with all the fairy tale twists they put in it.

If you're talking regular book, I'd probably have to go with Harry Potter for series and Maltese Falcon for regular novel.

How about movie

There are so many!  I can't even choose!  Plus it changes from time to time.  Um, if I really had to pick one I'd probably have to go with something classic...probably 'The Philadelphia Story', 'Casablanca', 'The Maltese Falcon' or something like that.  I really like westerns too.

TV show?

Again, so many good ones.  I'm very partial to House, Lie to Me, CSI, CSI: New York, Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Gilmore Girls, Firefly, Babylon 5, Star Trek (most everything except Voyager and Enterprise), Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and Disney's Zorro.

Favourite character ever?

That's a toughie.  I think that Lee Stetson from Scarecrow and Mrs. King is one of my favourites, and I haven't seen that much of the show. He's an awesome agent and such a smug bastard, but he's still flawed.  Plus, he has awesome legs. (Okay that is the last mention of Bruce Boxleitner's legs in this journal.  I promise...maybe. :giggle:) Also, I love Lorelai from Gilmore Girls.  And House.  :iconhughlaurieplz:  I love me some Hugh Laurie.

Those were all TV characters.  Weird.  I guess that I'll throw in Captain Jack Sparrow, Ragetti, Indiana Jones and Tron for good measure.

I know you like both fanart and fanfiction? Any preferences (as audience, not as creator)?

I don't have a huge preference for fanart, just whatever catches my eye.  In fanfiction, I usually go on kicks every few weeks or so.  I like to read Labyrinth (Jareth/Sarah), Pride and Predjudice (modern day retellings), Tron (mostly the ones where programs come into the real world and are adorably child-like and curious), Gilmore Girls (Rory/Finn, weird I know), Star Wars prequels (Obi-Wan/Padme, I know, even weirder).

I'm really open to a lot.  As long as it could make sense, is fairly well-written, and isn't a block of text that I have to wade through, I'll give it a shot.

_____

And last, but not least, :iconthedollfacedraven: asked

If you had to pick any one thing to draw for a week, what would it be?

Well, I've been drawing Tron for the past month, and I'm still not sick of it. =D

What's your favorite RPG video game?

Kingdom Hearts I, II and Birth By Sleep. BBS has the best combat system.  I love it so much.  Recently, I've gotten addicted to the new Tron game for PC.  And when I get the money I really want to start playing Assassin's Creed.  I can get the PSP version, but I won't have an Xbox or anything like that until, hopefully, the end of the year.

Do you like waffles?

Yeah, I like waffles!  Do you like pancakes? =D

Who would win in a fight Iron Fist or Darth Maul?

Oh geez....uh...well, right off the bat, I'd say that it would be one epic fight.  I kind of think that Darth Maul has a bit of an advantage, even though Danny's chi is technically like the Force...sort of.  However, good usually triumphs over evil, so Iron Fist would probably find a way to win.

Hello loves!  Just a quick reminder about this fun game (and notice to those of you who didn't see/read this journal).  The questions are due in 2 days.  If there are a few latecomers, I suppose that's alright, but I will be posting the answers on Saturday night at about 8 PM EST.  If you have already submitted questions, feel free to submit more.  And if you haven't, well what are you waiting for? :giggle: Guidelines are below.

Greetings, Programs!

I thought it'd be interesting to answer a few questions from y'all so here's how this is going to go down:

:bulletgreen: From now until May 20th, you can post a question in the comments and on May 21st or so, I will post a new journal answering said questions.

:bulletgreen:  You can ask most anything about my likes, dislikes, interests, hobbies, school, questions about my technique, artwork, style, would you rather...whatever.

:bulletgreen:  I know this one sort of contradicts the condition above, but please don't ask something I answered back in the Facebook FAQs journal.  I'll just direct you back there.  *cough*Spock Prime Page*cough* ;)

:bulletgreen:  Also, this is more of a get-to-know-you thing and not a commissions/request forum.  If you have suggestions cool, but if you're into commissions/requests, note me.

:bulletgreen:  Let's be mature about this people.  Please keep it clean and have content under an 'R' rating.

:bulletgreen:  You may submit more than one question if you so desire.

I think that's it.  I'm interested to see what y'all come up with.

Cheers,

PK

:bulletgreen: I have quite a few projects in my queue, including another installment in the TRON Princesses series (I know, it's been awhile) and a fun thank you for all the views and :+fav:s and what not. =D

:bulletgreen: However, don't expect too many updates in the next week or so.  I've got a lot of work going on next week, plus my dance showcase coming up next weekend.  I'm swamped, but I might be able to get one or two things up.

:bulletgreen: Finally, I'm starting a new outline for another Facebook page!  Let the excitement and wild, random guesses start! :giggle:

Thanks for all the :+fav:s, comments and watches.  I try to respond to as many as I can, but sometimes I get backed up, so I'll just say it here.  I love you guys.

Cheers,
PK

Hey everyone!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for the amazing response to all the Facebook Pages.  I love all you guys!

From the pages that I've done, I've gathered a few questions, so I thought I'd address some of them.

------
Facebook FAQs

1. When are you going to do Spock Prime's page?

This one is one that I've gotten a few times. The answer: I will not be doing a Spock Prime page. The reason is that I don't think that it'll be any different from the current Spock page.  Well, a little different, different names, but the same jokes/references.

2. How do you make these?

I have been asked a few times to do a tutorial or whatever.  I've never done a tutorial before, so there is a high possibility that this will happen...I'm just not sure when.  Organic Chem is starting to catch up with me, so I'm starting to get a little swamped in the academic department.

3. What do you think about doing a page for 'x'?

I will say that the end of the Star Trek series is NOT the end of the Facebook pages.  I have many ideas about what/who to do next.  In fact, I have two others ready to put up soon.  I've also stated on several occasions that I have ideas of doing pages for things like Firefly, Harry Potter, Disney Princesses and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Some of the suggestions I've gotten would be cool, but I don't know much about some of the fandoms.  In order to do these pages, I like to know in-jokes and such things.  If you've got a suggestion, leave it in the comments and I'll get back to you.

I will say that I will never be doing Twilight pages.  So don't ask.
------

I think that's it...if there are any other questions or comments, leave a comment.

Love you guys!
:huggle:

EDIT: Almost forgot!  The new Facebook pages that I put up probably won't be as consistent as the Star Trek pages.  That is to say that they'll be all mixed up so, for example, one week I could do a Harry Potter page and two weeks later I could throw out a Disney Princess page.

I really like to hear your ideas, and if you'd like y'all can stalk follow me on Twitter here: [link] for updates, ideas and general randomness.

Okay, I really think that's it this time! =D

Cheers, my freaky darlings!

I wrote this a couple weeks ago when the movie came out and perhaps some of you would find it amusing, but if you actually read all the way through this I'll give you a prize! Yay! But now, the game is afoot....

So this rant is a product of reading the review of the new Sherlock Holmes movie by one Michael Phillips. I don't know exactly who he is, but it's pretty clear that he's at least slightly braindead.

Mr. Phillips starts out by stating that he "likes the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle characters"....well, so do I, buddy, that's why I saw the movie...geez. I actually had reservations of seeing the movie because I was afraid that it wouldn't be the characters that I knew and loved. After seeing the movie, I realise that I had nothing to worry about.

This "critic" goes on to comment that "Ritchie has turned Homes and Dr. Watson into a couple of garden-variety thugs" and that "Ritchie's flim operates on almost pure thuggery itself". I can only assume that Mr. Phillips is discussing Holmes and Watson taking out various baddies and Holmes' boxing match about a fifth of the way through the movie. Unfortunately for Mr. Phillips, he did not do his research. Holmes was, in the novels and the short stories, an amateur boxer and a practitioner of several martial arts. As to his incapacitating of baddies, many times in the short stories Holmes "sprang like a tiger" in order to catch the perp and Watson was no slouch either.

Moreover, he must have fallen asleep during parts of the movie, because he keeps commenting about the "thuggery" of the movie and he doesn't even comment about the other side of Holmes, the deductive side, except to comment that he didn't feel that this new Holmes wasn't as multifaceted as the original.

Mr. Phillips also criticizes the style in which the movie was filmed. He seems very keen on insulting the way Mr. Ritchie shot the film. I have no qualms with Mr. Ritchie. I didn't even know that's who was directing until the credits began to roll. In my opinion, the movie, with it's "shifting film speeds" was not only there because audiences have no attention span these days, it was also paralleling Holmes' thought process which also whizzes around with dizzying speed as he concentrates on many things at once to deduce the correct solution.

In his own rant about the fighting Holmes and Watson, Mr Phillips touches only on the plot briefly, not even mentioning the fun "in-jokes", for lack of a better term, for all the Holmes fans out there, such as Irene Alder mentioning the King of Bohemia and the scandal she created with him when she was looking through her own file. They touched on Holmes' drug habits, his violin, his disguises, and Watson's habit for writing their adventures down.

And then, he just had to do it. You can ask my mum, I flipped at this next comment. Mr. Phillips makes some comment about "the best of the Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce pictures".

No. No, no, no, no, no. Hell no! No! No! I refu-no!

You're going to mention another Sherlock Holmes incarnation other than the original stories, and you choose the Rathbone-Bruce movies?! Really?! No. That is just...urgh!

No offense to either Basil or Nigel, but those movies were so far from cannon. Granted, the basic facts were the same; however, they are set in the 1940s, Holmes is chasing Nazis, and Watson is completely off. Instead of being a competent ex-military man, he is at best a bumbling sidekick.

Mr. Phillips should have instead mentioned "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" starring Jeremy Brett, which is, in my opinion, one of the best incarnations of the original short stories.

Finally, Mr. Phillips claims that Hans Zimmer's score should have "somehow be voted off the finished film". Um, you don't say that about Hans Zimmer. He is the man. Mr. Zimmer's score was excellent as are all his work. People have also been calling the Sherlock Holmes score the retitled Pirates 4 score. Um, no.

First of all, this score may sound similar to the Pirates score, but it also sounds similar to the Dark Knight score. Why you ask? Um, because Hans Zimmer wrote all of them. Duh. I will not deny that there are elements in the score that sound like pieces of 'At World's End', but Mr. Zimmer explained in an interview that he had been experimenting with all sorts of different sounds to enhance his music. So, it's not Mr. Zimmer copying his previous work. It's Mr. Zimmer growing as a composer. Also, if you listen to the two scores, Pirates and Sherlock Holmes, Pirates has more of an influence on the cello. This is because Klaus Badelt, the composer on Curse of the Black Pearl, used the cello on Captain Jack Sparrow's memorable theme. In comparison, Mr. Zimmer makes use of Holmes' signature instrument, the violin, to give his score a distinctive sound as well as various instruments like bagpipes, Hungarian cimbaloms, bandoneóns and variations of the violin such as Irish fiddles and gypsy violins. This score = quirky and eclectic, just like Holmes himself.

In conclusion, Mr. Phillips, you are so very wrong. Good day to you, sir.

And now my rant is complete. If you got all the way to the end, congratulations! If you didn't, well then you wouldn't be reading this right now, would you...so I have nothing to say to you.

A Nicole is someone who is omnipotent. A Nicole is gorgeous, intelligent, mysterious, witty, hilarious, out-going, creative and seductive, yet she is also tough, street-smart, experienced, brave, enduring, and mainly a wonderful mother. Nothing and nobody can compare to a Nicole in any aspect. Mess with a Nicole, or her family, and you will regret ever being born.

13 random facts about me....

1.  I name random things.  For instance, my favourite mechanical pencil is Stuart, my slippers are named Hector and Jorge, my bomber jacket is called Errol, and my leather jacket is Lucius.  Oddly enough, I bequeath most of my stuff with male names.

2.  I've been dancing since I was 3 years old.  I've done tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop.  Now, I'm student teaching as well as taking classes.  My ultimate dance dream is to dance as a chimney sweep at Disney World.  Actually, that or dance with Jamie Bell.

3.  My favourite style to draw in is Disney.  I can draw the Princesses pretty accurately. My favourite to draw is Ariel.

4.  My intials spell out Ned.

7.  I'm the middle child and only girl in my family.  Please pity me.

8.  I make totally random pop culture references in everyday life.  Sometimes it confuses people, which makes me giggle.  My crowning moment was when I mentioned the Legion of Doom in an APUSH paper.

9.  My favourite band is Panic at the Disco, and I was lucky enough to see them in concert last Halloween.

10. I have a vast knowledge of movies.  Old, new, whatever.  Lots of random and useless trivia.

12.   I look almost exactly like Kaylee from the show Firefly.

13.  At least 6 different people have told me that they want to go to Disney World with me just because I know all the secrets and the haps. Yes, I did just say haps.
